Dozens of volunteers in the Indianapolis area convened at Veterans' Memorial Plaza on flag day 2006 to remember the 2,500 American soldiers lost in the illegal and immoral Iraq war. Their message was clear: "2,500 dead - not one more!"

As of flag day 2006, the Bush Administration has sent 2,500 American soldiers to their death serving in Iraq. Veterans For Peace Indianapolis, along with other local volunteers, planted one flag for every dead soldier at Indianapolis' Veterans' Memorial Plaza in a gesture of reverence and respect for their ultimate sacrifice in this illegal and immoral war.

The volunteers gathered to plant 2500 American flags at Indianapolis' Veterans' Memorial Plaza (one for every American soldier killed in Iraq) on flag day 2006 have one central message: War isn't working.

Veterans for Peace, along with other volunteers, planted 2500 flags at Indianapolis' Veterans' Memorial Plaza. Each volunteered under the flag of peace.

Each of the 2500 flags planted into the ground at Indianapolis' Veterans Plaza represents an American soldier's ultimate sacrifice for their Country. Each flag represents an unnecessary death, soldiers sent to die in an immoral war dictated by the Bush Administration.

Veterans For Peace Communications Director Harold Donle addresses the crowd amidst a sea of American flags adorned with black ribbons; each one representing a U.S. soldier whose life has been lost during the war in Iraq.
